Monday was a bad day, I was very emotional, my head was everywhere, and I could not focus on anything. But we ended the day with a bang, and had a really good lesson with K and A.
Tuesday we were under tornado watch, so I freaked out thinking I was going to die. The storm didn't even start until 9 and it was the most intense thunderstorm in the whole world. I have never seen anything like it before! The raindrops were like the size of grapes (I can't think of anything the same size) and it was just crazy. We did a lesson on the doorstep of this girl's house and it was so awkward and she even said "yall are very awkward" I have learned to embrace the awkwardness that is in me or in other words get TOASTY "Thrive On Awkward Situations Today" - my new motto
Wednesday everything fell through. We biked around the whole city of Ponca. I was hangry, and emotional, and all the things that you don't want to be while trying to talk to strangers. Sister Washburn made me do my first OYM all by myself and I was so scared, but I did it and I survived and it was all good.
Thursday we had a less active woman named Sister W. come to Book of Mormon class which was such a big deal, and she almost made me sing in front of everyone because she overheard me singing, and my face turned bright red. I was not ready for that.
Friday it poured. I don't mean like anything that has ever happened in Utah. We ran from the car to the apartment, (which is like 1 minute max) and it was as if we sat in the shower for 5 minutes. I have never seen anything like it.
During a lesson we asked our investigators "if you could ask God one question what would it be?"
So I am curious what Y'all would ask. so let me know :)
Saturday and Sunday we realized that everything happens for a reason. Things that were falling through led us to people that we would have never found otherwise. Like Martha. We ran into her on Wednesday and it was awkward because we had already OYM ed her the week before, so we walked away from her but then we found Joshua who said, "COME OVER TO MY HOUSE TOMORROW!" So we went to his house and guess what -Martha is his mom! She is from Honduras, and she speaks maybe 50 words in English and she had taken lessons from missionaries in another city, but hadn't had any contact with missionaries since she moved to Ponca city 8 YEARS AGO! She lives 5 minutes away from us. God knows us and he makes sure we are found when we are lost.
My new favorite scripture is Alma 37 vs 36-37. It is really great and you should look it up, and remember God all day every day :)
I love yall so much. Have a wonderful week!
Love,
Sister Webber
Thanks Mad and Annie for the letters they made my day.
